New iPhone rumours have been springing up from a variety of sources for the last few months, and we've now got a clear picture of some specs of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 mini.
From our digging, we're confident we've got a pretty clear picture of the new iPhone 13 models, and we've cut down the rumours into a handy, bite-size portion below... as well as tonnes more depth where we explain everything you have to know about the new iPhone range.
- IPhone 13 rumoured features
- Released September 2021
- Price starts at $699 / £699
- Possibly two new colors
- Design largely unchanged
- Smaller notch
- Upgraded camera
- Biggest camera upgrade for Pro
- Smooth-scrolling screen on Pros
- New, powerful A15 chipset
- More storage, up to 1TB models
- Larger batteries for every model

- iPhone 13 release date: September 2021 is likely when we'll hear about the iPhone 13, but an exact launch date hasn't yet become clear. As per different sources our best guess is you'll hear about the new iPhone on September 14, 2021 but it might be delayed as per the sources confirmed on 31st August. IPhone 13 release date could be delayed for sure
- iPhone 13 price: iPhone 13 could cost more than iPhone 12
Apple could raise the prices again for its iPhone 13 line-up. According to an August report from DigiTimes, the tech giant is considering raising the costs for the iPhone 13 to compensate for the upped price of chip production from its supplier TSMC. Apple's supplier is considering to increase the cost by as much as 20% for "advanced and mature process technologies" by January 2022, as per the report. It's unclear, based on a report, how much the iPhone price could increase exactly.
As for how much the iPhone 13 will cost, we'd assume the prices to track with the iPhone 12 range — $699, $799, $999 and $1,099, respectively. Apple considers to keep its pricing for each new generation of iPhone relatively close to the one that preceded it.

- This includes moving the speaker towards the top of the phone, a new diagonal camera arrangement for the regular iPhone 13 and a larger camera module for the iPhone 13 Pro
- A separate iPhone 13 case leak seemingly confirms many of the above changes and includes possible dimensions of the new iPhones as well as the camera modules and notch. In fact, the notch could be 25% smaller
- A variety of leaks and reports have the iPhone 13 tipped to come with a smaller display notch, after several years of using the same, somewhat bulky notch. Apple will obviously achieve this notch downsizing on the new iPhone by combining the currently separated infrared flood illuminator, sensor and dot projector, which make up the iPhone 12's Face ID unlocking system, into a single module. With two fewer sensors required, we might see a much narrower notch on the iPhone 13
- The earpiece speaker could no longer be housed in the notch, moving instead to the top bezel, as per the iPhone 13 Pro Max dummy unit showing off the new design and smaller notch
- That iPhone 13 Pro Max dummy unit suggested this year's phone will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
- improved version of Face ID that will make it easier for users to unlock their phone when wearing a face mask. Maybe not as good as having a secondary biometric scanner, but Apple could have been reacting to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on our daily behaviors.

The freshest iPhone 13 colors rumour points to four color options for the iPhone 13 Pro. This phone includes colours like black, silver, rose gold and sunset gold.
Apple may debut some new shades with the iPhone 13 series, and two rumoured versions are pink and orange. In addition, we expect to see similar shades to last-gen, such as purple, white and black.
- Display: Screen sizes and resolutions are expected to stay the same across the range of iPhone 13 series, but both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are heavily rumoured to debut 120Hz refresh rates. This suggests that image on these screens will be smoother than previous iPhones. Plus we're hoping to have an always-on display on each handset, too. A report from ET News says that Apple will adopt a 120Hz refresh rate for the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, with leaker Ice Universe also naming the iPhone 13 Pro Max as having 120Hz.

- Camera: Apple is expected to be tweaking the camera on the iPhone 13 series, and the two Pro handsets may get an upgraded ultra-wide shooter.

The iPhone 13 Pro may also get an upgraded telephoto camera, plus some leaks indicates that LiDAR could be present on all four models so you'll have improved depth perception. Video recording software upgrading are also expected, including a new Portrait mode, New 6-element ultrawide lens, All iPhone 13 models are expected to gain sensor-shift stabilization,
- Specs: The A15 chipset will likely power each of these handsets, but we've yet to know how powerful that will be. It's also heavily rumoured that Apple may bring out a 1TB iPhone for the first time in 2021 so that'll allow for the largest iPhone sizes ever.
- Battery: If the biggest iPhone 13 battery leak is correct, you can expect a larger battery inside 2021's phones. These are expected to be particularly larger, with the iPhone 13 expected to have a 3,095mAh cell compared to the iPhone 12's 2,805mAh. What will that mean? Expect a longer lasting iPhone 13 than your previous iPhones.

- iPhone 13 Touch ID or Face ID?: A clutch of leaks and rumors point toward the iPhone 13 getting an under-display take on Touch ID. Also, recent reports cast a lot of doubt on this rumor, and some sources says that Apple won't bring under-display Touch ID until next year's iPhone 14. Still, at a time when mask-wearing is compulsory, having a secondary form of biometric security would be very welcome.
This might not be the best news, but the iPhone 13 could get an upgraded version of Face ID that will make it easier for users to unlock their phone when wearing a face mask. It may not be as good as having a secondary biometric scanner, but at least Apple could be reacting to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on our daily behaviors.
- iPhone 13 software: One thing we already know a fair bit about is the iPhone 13's software, since it's sure to run iOS 15, and while the next-gen software isn't out yet it has been announced by Apple.
Highlights of iOS 15 have various FaceTime improvements, such as the ability to join calls via a web link which even Android users can access, plus spatial audio and voice isolation coming to it.
- iPhone 13 satellite communications : This new feature would enable iPhone 13 users to make calls or send messages without a 4G of 5G cellular connection, which could be very useful for those who find themselves out of range of cell towers
- iPhone 13 charging: The iPhone 12 maxes out at 20W charging, but one rumor signifies that Apple potentially offering faster 25W charging this year. Unfortunately, the rumor comes from Chinese site MyDrivers, via 9to5 Mac, citing unnamed "foreign media." That doesn't sound very good.

The iPhone 13 could offer reverse wireless charging, according to tipster Max Weinbach, which would allow the iPhone to charge devices like the AirPods Pro and Apple Watch. However, Bloomberg previously stated that the iPhone 13 likely won't include reverse wireless charging. So at this time we would consider this rumor up in the air.
